History

Seatrain Consulting was established in 1999 by Captain Simon Pearson, a Master Mariner and highly respected specialist in the maritime education and training field since 1978.

Since then, Seatrain has used its base in Cape Town, South Africa to assist companies in the West African oil and gas sector with seafarer training management and administration.

Why South Africa?

South Africa is regarded by many as a high quality, cost effective alternative to sending trainees to Europe or to the Far East.

SAMTRA, the South African Maritime Training Authority, acquired Seatrain in 2016 after years of cooperation between the two organisations.

Captain Pearson continues to be closely affiliated to Seatrain.
